Difficult

(this is just a random shot of the boys playing lite brites - because it didn't seem right to publish a post without at least one photo - no matter how irrelevant it may be to the subject I'm actually writing about today.)

 Now: The Topic At Hand:

To say that I am finding it difficult to squeeze time into my day to sit down and write would be understating the matter.

It seems I can either blog at

a.  6:00 a.m.
b.  10:45 - 10:50 a.m.
c.  11:00 p.m.
d.  Not at all.

So -   obviously, I am still tinkering with this new schedule.  There are a number of problems with the new schedule.

Problem 1.

I've already stated it:  No time to write.

Problem 2.

No time to exercise.

This is a big one.  I am a woman of routines.  And if I can't find an obvious spot for something like exercise - a regular, every day, no budging kind of spot...  then it's not going to happen.

Problem 3.

Every Friday morning from 8:30 - 10:30 I have scheduled 3 concurrent things for myself that cannot possibly happen at once.   That I know of.
And they are

1.  Buy the week's groceries.
2.  Exercise
3.  Work at the office.

Any suggestions?

I'm not hanging from the end of my rope yet friends, but I am feeling my fingers slip sort of close to it.

I have  managed to not only remember that it was my kid's turns to bring snack to school this week -on yes - Monday AND Wednesday (thank you for that, teachers) - and this - in spite of the fact that George ripped the snack calendar in half on the day after I got it, and hid the important half away somewhere never to be seen again...

so not only did I manage to remember, but more importantly - I managed to bake fresh, homemade pumpkin bread for them to bring, and I let them help me make it, even though I'm sure you're aware that baking with 2 kids is only slightly more efficient than mowing the lawn with a pair of embroidery scissors...

Oh,
I need a vacation.

p.s. I should have some exciting news of the published knitting pattern variety any day now.
Please come back.

  1. I don't really have any suggestions other than hang in there, but I have to say that your comparison to mowing the lawn with embroidery scissors is awesome!!!!

  2. I didn't know they still made Lite Brites!
Wish I had some way to add a few hours to your day, but I do remember those days. Yay for remembering the snacks and just a note to let
you know, one day [in a blink of an eye - seriously] your children will be grown and you will have too much time. That is the voice of experience talking. :)

  3. @Tracey
I don't know if they still make lite brites either. They should, if they don't.
This is my set from the 70's that we're playing with.
